While touring Union College in 2018 the Sitler’s met the”Cinnamom Roll Lady”, Mrs Fogg. God moved on their hearts that if they ever moved to an Adventist College town they wanted to get involved in an afterglow ministry.
The next fall they moved near Southern, to pastor an area church, and Klatsch was born. Scared to death, and not sure if anyone would come they purchased a house near SAU with a huge basement and renovations began. Klatsch opened with fifty students at SmartStart 2019.
In 2020, God helped them to build a large outdoor deck and a supporter donated outdoor heaters making it accessible year round. In 2023 Klatsch was again renovated replacing worn furniture.
Every week 50 to as many as 200 students come to Klatsch. They call it a “home”, “a safe space”, “a place of worship”, “ “a place you feel loved.”. There are always homemade treats and food, a hug, someone to hear your story, and pray with you.
